The Yankton Area Summer Concert Series will continue with a series of Pops Concerts at the Riverside Park Amphitheatre each Tuesday evening at 8:00pm July 9 through July 30.
Maggie in the Meantime will set the mood for the Pops Concerts on July 9. The band is made up of four musicians who have been playing since they were children. Magdalena (Maggie) Madzelewska is one of four principal violins in the South Dakota Symphony and has performed in Europe and America as a soloist. Her own musical project, Flower and Flame has performed in Europe and across the state of South Dakota. Darrel Fickbohm is a guitar player, singer/songwriter and professional actor with performance credits in Europe and America. He describes the groups as a distilled blend of storytelling, Celtic, folk and ballad. In the course of the evening one hears some familiar tunes and some new. Blaine Fickbohm, brother of Darrel has mastered the wooden drum (cajon) and joins the group from his hometown of Moville, Iowa. Jeff Paul, from Los Angeles is a jack-of-all-trades in the group with stage credits in every genre. He is principle Oboist in the South Dakota Symphony, but for this show he plays pennywhistle, oboe, keyboards, guitar, and English horn.
