The Southeast South Dakota Society for Human Resource Management (SESD SHRM) conducts monthly trainings in order to enhance one’s profession in the Human Resource Industry through personal and professional development. The Yankton Chamber of Commerce has partnered with SHRM, giving our Yankton Chamber members access to SESD SHRM training events.

SESD SHRM is a local starting point for networking, information, professional development and continued support of excellence in Human Resources. The SESD SHRM began in April of 2000 and has been meeting monthly ever since. At each meeting, professional speakers will discuss topics such as leadership training, team building, healthcare, unemployment and more. A meal is provided at each monthly meeting for attendants.

Along with monthly meetings, SESD SHRM provides more opportunities for members. Workshops and conferences are often held, along with study groups, social activities, and volunteer opportunities. The opportunity to network extensively helps members gain exposure and professional contacts.

A $15 fee is asked of non-SESD SHRM members (including Yankton Chamber members) to attend monthly meetings/trainings. One can RSVP or pay at the door. An annual BASIC membership to SESD SHRM is $50 including meal costs. An annual PLUS membership is $150.00 plus meal costs. Become a member at sesd.shrm.org. Non-members may still attend monthly meetings for $15.00 but do not receive extra benefits.

The 2020 South Dakota State SHRM Conference will be held from May 6 to 8, 2020 at the Watertown Event Center in Watertown, SD. Early registration will be available until March 31, 2020. Registration is available on sodakshrm.org.
