Agriculture is the leading industry in the state of South Dakota, and plays a vital role in the Yankton economy. To Honor those in the Agricultural Industry, the Yankton Chamber of Commerce hosts an annual Ag Gala in June. During this event, the Farm Family of the Year award is presented to a Yankton area family and P.A.Y. Scholarships are awarded to area youth.
Our most recent Ag Gala was held June 30, 2015 and had just under 400 producers and businesses in attendance. At this 10th annual Ag Gala, Lt. Governor Matt Michels entertained the crowd as the Master of Ceremonies and Secretary of Ag Lucas Lentsch delivered his address as keynote about the “Value of Cooperation”.
Watch for our next Ag Gala and plan on attending!
